<黎族研究大系> (Major Series of Research on the Li People) has taken First Prize at the 12th Shanghai Book Awards, reports China Book International (获奖). The four-volume series in Chinese, compiled by Professor Sun Shaoxian (孙绍先), was published at the end of 2011 by Shanghai University Press (上海大学出版社).

Reportedly the first scholarly series focusing on the traditional culture of the Li ethnic minority in Hainan Island (海南岛的黎族), the series includes sections on:

Facial and body tattooing (“绣面” 与 “雕身”：黎族纹身文化)

Tapestry (符号与传统：织锦文化)

Governance (“治黎” 与 “黎治”)

Taboos (“查禁” 与 “除禁”：黎族 “禁” 习惯法)
